Job description
The Mutual Group (TMG) is a comprehensive, integrated insurance operations platform dedicated to helping mutual insurance companies. We offer access to a modern, professional operating platform, including surplus support, technology, claims, underwriting, finance and a broad range of other resources for our members. As TMG's Vice President of Programs, you will lead the overall strategic operation, profit and loss and execution of the GuideOne programs business unit. In this role, you will align financial goals with business processes to successfully manage delegated authority business including but not limited to handling referrals, applying underwriting oversight, managing, and optimizing the individual and collective portfolio of programs and developing and sustaining relationships with Program Administrators.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the profit and loss of the GuideOne underwriting unit.
- Develops and communicates an operational strategy that aligns with overall Programs portfolio objectives.
- Develop ad maintain strategic, substantive, transparent and robust working relationships with key decision makers at existing Program Administrator partners, communicating appetite, value proposition and successes, as well as areas for improvement, regularly.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- 10+ years of ascending levels of responsibility in property & casualty commercial lines underwriting including the attainment of leadership positions, with direct experience in program management also preferred.
- Strong relationship building capabilities, project management skills, and ability to successfully lead a diverse team.
- Travel Required.
Recommended Qualifications:
- CPCU or similar insurance-related designation preferred.
*The successful candidate will initially be hired as an employee of GuideOne Insurance Company and automatically become an employee of TMG on the company's official transition date.
