Camp Indigo: Camp Director
Location
Boulder, CO | United States
Job description
Camp Directors are key members of Camp Indigo’s success, and we are looking for Directors in Boulder, Akron, and Austin! In this role, you will assume overall leadership of one of our summer day camp locations; managing and coaching staff, seamlessly overseeing day-to-day operations, and creating a joy-filled summer camp culture.
YOU WILL
- You’ll be responsible for all aspects of daily camp operations and run an efficient and joy-filled program. You’ll flex your creative problem-solving skills as you juggle competing priorities and anticipate the needs of your camp community with agility and positivity.
- You’ll collaborate with and cultivate a team of 15-25+ summer staff, coaching them toward success. You’ll be a supportive manager with high expectations, providing feedback on classroom instruction and behavior management, while thoughtfully pushing your team to greatness in ways that have a ripple effect.
- You’ll create and build partnerships like a boss. As the face of Camp Indigo in the community you serve, you’ll consider parent and partner perspectives in everything you do. You’ll wow our school partners with your care for camp facilities while consistently delivering exceptional service to our camper families.
- You’ll leverage existing (and carefully crafted) training and resources to masterfully manage your time and responsibilities, efficiently tracking your workflow details and calendar in the pre-season and throughout the summer.
- With support from our People Ops team, you’ll manage compliance processes, implement company policies, and uphold our camp safety standards. From supporting your team’s onboarding completion and approving weekly timecards to daily site safety checks, you will meticulously execute and uphold company policies.
- In collaboration with our headquarters team you’ll ensure camp has all the necessary resources and supplies to run smoothly; developing effective systems for managing inventory and materials, keeping classrooms organized, and using your facility space to its full potential.
YOU ARE
- You are intrigued and inspired by Camp Indigo’s mission and purpose. Trans-community centered learning and working in a joy-first, inclusive, play-inspired culture sound like things you’re ready to explore or sign up for.
- You have extensive lived experience within the transgender and/or gender expansive community
- You are an organized, deeply accountable, service-minded powerhouse. You take great pride in leveraging your administrative talents to support others. It’s part of your personal brand to be a quick, thorough, and friendly email responder, and take ownership of anything on your plate.
- You are a youth-centered leader. You understand how to communicate and connect with children across the K-12 spectrum and courageously lead with humor and optimism, balancing fun with safety and operational excellence to center the camper experience in all aspects of your work.
- You are adaptable and action-oriented. You’re a camp chameleon who can adjust on a dime to meet the shifting demands of diverse situations. You’re a born problem solver who embraces challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
- You Build Effective Teams. You create the conditions for staffers to apply their diverse skillsets and perspectives to achieve shared goals. You celebrate wins, coach staff toward success, and foster an environment where innovation and collaboration can thrive.
- You are an Operations Expert. You understand what it takes to run a best-in-class youth program and are able to effectively prioritize and problem solve, with a constant eye towards camper safety and customer experience.
