Position Summary
We are inviting applications for postdoctoral fellow positions to join our vibrant interdisciplinary team in the Department of Health & Wellness Design within the School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) at Indiana University. The Better Health by Design research program collectively pursues “better health, by design” through the development and testing of sociotechnical interventions in key areas of prevention and care. We are highly interdisciplinary, applying expertise from social and behavioral sciences, systems engineering, informatics, human-centered design, and the health professions. Topics include medication safety; mobile health, sensors, and other technologies; healthy aging and disease prevention; family caregiving; participatory design of interventions; clinical trials to test interventions; and social determinants of health and healthy equity.
The position is intended to provide mentored research training and experience for postdoctoral fellows whose interests are aligned with the Better Health by Design research program.
The postdoctoral fellow will work with Nicole Werner, Ph.D. and Rich Holden, Ph.D., with the opportunity to form a mentorship team based on their goals and interests. The Department of Health & Wellness Design is an academic department with 20 full-time faculty, over 400 students enrolled in BS, MS, MPH, and PhD programs, and closely connected to Indiana University and Purdue University schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Informatics, Art & Design, Public and Environmental Affairs, and Public Health as well as other state entities including Regenstrief Institute, Inc., the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, IU Health and Eskenazi Health.
