The Andover Recreation Division is proud to offer our extended-day program for children in Grades K-5 at Bancroft Elementary School, West Elementary School, South Elementary School, High Plain Elementary School and Sanborn Elementary School. Andover Kid Care is a great solution for busy working families that combines fun and learning with the safety and convenience of a high-quality afterschool program right inside the child's school.

Kid Care follows the Andover Public School schedule. The program begins on the first day of school and ends on the last day of school. Programs will run on early dismissal days with the exception of when school closes at mid-day for a school vacation period or school snow/emergency cancellation or unscheduled early release days.

The Kid Care Program runs Monday-Friday, 3:30-6:00 PM . We invite you to consider working as few as 2 or all 5 days with us!

Responsibilities

The site director must have the ability to create and implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities to the needs of the children being served. Must be able to assist in staff development and keep track of Daily Payroll sheet-log staff hours. Must also do periodic evaluation of the program/staff/children. Maintain the cleaning and upkeep of the facility. Must always maintain an orderly physical environment and monitoring safety situations. Plan and conduct daily activities for the children in the program that will contribute to their care, growth and development. Keep accurate records of the children and the program. Create Kid Care Newsletter and Calendar monthly for parents. Develop and maintain all policies and procedures as required by the EEC and the Recreation Department. Follow licensing procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children at all times. Conduct staff meetings and make sure staff is meeting their required annual training. Perform necessary safety drills on a regular basis (i.e., Fire drills). Complete all EEC required trainings and keep up with other responsibilities as needed. Position reports to the Kid Care Coordinator and Director of Recreation.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree preferred

Supplemental Information

The Kid Care program has been organized to provide afterschool supervision for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Kid Care is a School Age Child Care Program licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
