Vaco has a great opportunity for an AR Manager in Jacksonville, Florida
This is a direct hire position that sits fully onsite.
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the accounts receivable function and audits in relation to customer contracts
Specific responsibilities include management of daily accounts receivable functions, reconciling outstanding account balances, supervising the audit of customer contractual program allowances, and preparation of periodic management reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Review analysis of accounts that need to be recorded as either a potential high-risk account (record on Allowance for Doubtful Accounts), to be written off as bad debt, or to be sent to collection agency.
• Review of A/R journal entries and close of the A/R subsidiary ledger at month-end
• Review reconciliations for shortages, returns, A/R subsidiary to G/L, reclass of credit balances and allowance for doubtful accounts
Record/review any flux explanations as needed
• Manage the preparation of financial reports for senior management (i.e., DSO, accounts receivable aging, cash discounts, freight allowance reserves, pending return projections for accruals, etc.).
• Manage accounting for returns, including working as the liaison with other departments as necessary.
• Understand the process flow for accounts receivable and related transactions into the general ledger.
• Support external financial audits as needed.
• Have a thorough understanding of the open accounts receivable balance for our top customers and determine if there are unresolved issues
Work with the appropriate department and/or customer to resolve any issues on a timely basis.
• Manage daily cash receipts and follow-up on customer deductions to ensure they are both completed on a timely basis and coded properly for accurate Open Deductions Reporting.
• Review analysis of customer accounts for credit increase/decrease based on payment history, available credit reporting information and acceptable risk.
• Manage the trade promotional allowance ("TPA")/customer rebate audit process to include the understanding of customer contracts, calculation of contractual allowances and the related credit memos issued, timely follow-up of open issues related to the audit, and appropriate management reports
• Keep aging current, ensure any outstanding invoices or issues are addressed timely.
• Manage credit function, including but not limited to customer risk analysis and communication with sales/customer regarding orders on hold and any challenges with collections
• Manage unclaimed property procedures and process
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in accounting, plus up to seven years relevant accounting, auditing, or general ledger experience along with three years management experience
Accounts receivable experience preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software
Strong organizational and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to read and interpret contract language
Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative
Solid people leader skills: ability to communicate effectively, motivate, support, train, develop and recognize people is essential
