System Administrator
Summary:
The system administrator will work directly with the Infrastructure Manager in the administration and support of the company’s entire IT infrastructure and will support both internal and external users on a vast array of technical products and/or services. This individual will also be responsible for the management and support of Microsoft applications, Windows servers, Office 365, and networking equipment. Additional responsibilities include assisting helpdesk staff with ticket resolution and escalation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing hybrid Azure AD and Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
- Administer and support functions within a Microsoft Active Directory domain (hybrid Azure AD) and Cisco networking environment.
- Work with software and data engineering teams in performing software deployments, configurations, and upgrades.
- Provide in-person and over-the-phone technical support as needed.
- Manage and support Office 365 and other SaaS systems.
- Identify and escalate technical issues requiring urgent attention, and work with service providers to escalate helpdesk tickets as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis of technical problems to reduce or prevent future occurrences.
- Mitigate or eliminate security risks identified in servers, networking equipment, or software services.
- Setup and install hardware, software, and other related equipment.
- Stay current with fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware, and technical equipment.
- Update and maintain IT process and procedures documentation.
- Inventory management.
- Research, test, and recommend new technologies.
- User account life cycle management.
Requirements Qualifications:
- Energetic individual who is motivated to learn new skills and technologies.
- 2 - 4 years of experience supporting users in a Windows Active Directory environment.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory / Azure AD, Windows Server, Office 365, Powershell, DHCP, and DNS.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Understanding of computer networking; especially in a Cisco environment.
- Ability to identify customers’ needs and offer appropriate solutions.
- Ability to explain IT concepts to users that have limited technical knowledge.
Desired Qualifications:
- PowerShell scripting.
- At least one year of experience with AWS.
- At least one year of experience with Azure AD.
- Cisco networking experience.
- Ubiquiti networking experience.
- Linux server experience.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification and/or Microsoft Azure Administrator certifications are a plus.
