Administrative Specialist Location Madison, WI :

Job Summary: The Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center (WIPAC) is a scientific center within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. WIPAC research focuses on particle astrophysics, including managing the operations of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole. This position will provide administrative support for WIPAC in Madison, WI. The work includes procurement, property administration, financial reporting, payroll, human resources, and supporting WIPAC leadership. As part of the administrative team, the hired individual will:
  • track grant budgets and prepare financial reports
  • purchase goods and services, including tracking capital equipment purchases and inventory in accordance with UW policy
  • assist with payroll and personnel management
  • act as department liaison for building management and fleet vehicle requests
  • provide administrative support to WIPAC leadership
  • complete special projects as assigned

Responsibilities:

Responsible for a variety of professional level work across a variety of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals.
