Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineering Branch Leader
Job Summary:
As the Senior Geotechnical Engineering Leader in our Reno, Nevada office, you will play a crucial role in our companys success. Your extensive background in geotechnical engineering, combined with exceptional leadership skills, will contribute to the development and execution of effective and safe design solutions for a variety of projects. Additionally, your strategic vision and divisional leadership capabilities will position you for potential growth into a Geotechnical Branch President role.
Responsibilities:
1. Market Development:
- Actively engage with public and private sector clients to identify and secure new projects.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and clients to expand the companys presence in the region.
2. Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
- Oversee and manage field technicians conducting geotechnical investigations.
3. Stakeholder Liaison:
- Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Address geotechnical engineering-related inquiries, concerns, and challenges.
4. Industry Knowledge:
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in geotechnical engineering.
5. Geotechnical Analysis:
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses to assess soil properties, stability, and foundation design for various projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering solutions aligned with project objectives and regulatory standards.
6. Review and Oversight:
- Review detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for geotechnical aspects of projects.
- Oversee geotechnical field inspections, monitoring, and testing to ensure compliance with design specifications and construction quality.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Nevada and California.
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, including foundation design, soil mechanics, slope stability analysis, and ground improvement techniques.
- Strong proficiency in relevant geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Geo5, LPile, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills in complex geotechnical situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing project timelines, budget control, and overall project success.
- Analyze existing risk management procedures and suggest strategies to identify and address potential risks early in the project lifecycle.
- Review and enhance safety protocols and procedures to ensure workforce well-being and compliance with industry standards.
- Evaluate and improve quality assurance processes, inspections, testing, and quality control measures.
- Develop relationships with Eastern Sierra Engineering and Civil Solutions staff, identifying opportunities for cross-marketing and new client acquisition.
