This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner I to work in the urology practice at Tulane/LCMC. The Nurse Practitioner I will be a multi-specialty urology team member throughout all patient care settings. The Nurse Practitioner I will be involved in all aspects of patient care, including independently functioning to provide office and inpatient consultations, being responsible for assessing new patients, discussing their various options for surgery, and consulting with patients after their surgical procedures. They must be comfortable working alongside resident physicians as a team.
The experienced Nurse Practitioner I must be proficient in both the outpatient clinic and inpatient acute care settings with a high level of independent functioning in a high-yield, high-volume Urology service.
Experience will be within a large multi-specialty clinic and local hospitals providing thorough patient-centered care, efficient, autonomous, and detail-oriented urological care across the inpatient, outpatient, and surgical spectrums. All our faculty are sub-specialized, and fellowship trained.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification by one of the following:
• Completion of an ANA-approved Nurse Practitioner program with national certification• Louisiana licensure to practice professional nursing plus recognition or licensure by the State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the date of hire• Current DEA registration• Three years of full-time professional clinical nurse experience• Special qualifications : Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within the designated probationary period. Current CPR certification is required.
