Job description

Position Summary

The Operations Manager oversees all MSO ROV Operations for the division he is assigned, verifying operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all Oceaneering and customer policies. The Operations Manager will supervise the selection, configuration, operation and maintenance of all ROV electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and sub-systems including component repair, replacement, and troubleshooting in compliance with the MSO Operations and Compliant Systems policy and all authoritative documentation as required by MSO Operations and customer requirements.
The Operations Manager will administer the MSO Group Competency Program across all ROV platforms, monitor the training and qualification of all personnel assigned to his division. The MSO Operations Manager will perform Performance Assessments of his staff, monitor and assist with staff development and professional growth.
The Operations Manager also functions in a Senior Advisory role to the Director of Maritime Support Operations, bringing to bear their at-sea and subsea operations experience into daily business management assessments and decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL


• Provide comprehensive direction for OTECH Operations ROV staff onboard assigned vessels including but not limited to:
o Screening and assignment of staff.
o Manage overall mission success, including equipment readiness, personnel manning, operational planning, problem/issue identification and resolution, logistics, operational safety, and security.
o Act as point person for training, and qualification.
o Provide daily status reports on the progress of ongoing projects to the Director of Marine Support Operations.
o Interact with customer representative(s) and/or Management on technical and commercial issues.
• Provide overall direction for the maintenance and reliability of all MSO operations and MSO managed equipment.
• Assist in the development and revision of operating procedures (OPs) emergency procedures (EPs) and divisional policy.
• Assist in developing of schedules and cost estimates required for upcoming MSO operations, maintenance, and repair evolutions.
• Manage sometimes difficult and competing situational requirements and make decisions that affect profitability, safety of personnel, and mission success.
• Provide bid and proposal support as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED


• Minimum of eight years of documented experience in ROV-related subsea operations. 
• Knowledge of marine vessels and structures.
• ROV Hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems knowledge.
• Familiar with formal quality assurance policy and procedure. 
• Should be medically qualified and willing to occasionally travel and go to sea for short periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds of weight. 
• Must be able to climb ladders and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.  
• Candidate will have to perform within a rapidly changing and demanding Company and Customer environment.
• Must currently have and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
