Job description
The Opportunity:
Our client is hiring a Manager of Materials Management & Planning responsible for the materials requirement planning of our client's products and international manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will be working in a fast paced and changing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review the master production schedule to create the plan in our integrated system for production sites.
- Develop and oversee the materials requirements planning activities associated with the creation of the Bill of Materials through to the release of purchase orders.
- Cross functional support, coordination, and communicaiton with the supply chain team to ensure that the necessary items are purchased timely and received in time for production.
- Conduct meetings for all our production sites to ensure materials are available for production.
- Analyze material requirements and plan to calculate raw material needed to support both internal and external demands
- Review and recommend planned purchase requirements and any adhoc purchases such as special buys or recommendation on increasing safety stocks.
- Analyze and provide inventory reduction strategy recommendations to leadership team.
- Define, measure, and communicate key performance indicators and supportive metrics that track the effectiveness of production planning and manufacturing execution, to support process improvements to reduce lead-time and eliminate non-value-added activities
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in production planning or materials management in manufacturing environment preferably in a mechanical/electrical industry.
- Solid understanding and execution of application MRP, scheduling, orders, capacity planning, input/output control, product structures, routings, and standards maintenance.
- Knowledge of master scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, exceptional oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, and fast-paced team environment, including influencing business leadership
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access
- Expert in ERP systems; knowledge of Oracle-based systems a plus.
- Proficiency with planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Oracle OPM / ASCP, Excel, etc.).
- APICS CPIM and/or CSCP Certification a plus
- Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing.
