As a member of the Division of Undergraduate Education, the Educational Partnership Center (EPC) provides an array of school-centered and student-centered activities for students, parents, faculty, and community members across the Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley/San Jose regions to support students on the college-going pathway. The EPC coordinates new and longstanding student academic preparation efforts of the University of California, Santa Cruz with the goal of increasing access and opportunity to postsecondary education for students across our service area. The EPC provides support to faculty, staff, and outreach groups to work collaboratively with schools, community colleges, and universities to promote educational pathways to success for all students. Programs in the EPC include:


California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP)
California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS)
Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP)
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP)
Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA)
Educational Talent Search Program (ETS)
Girls in Engineering (GIE)
Access Program


The GEAR UP programs are under the umbrella of the EPC, serving targeted schools in the Pajaro Valley region, Salinas, and South Monterey County with the goal of increasing the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

JOB SUMMARY


Under the general supervision of the EPC deputy director, the incumbent will oversee the GEAR UP programs in Pajaro Valley, Salinas, and South Monterey County. The incumbent will provide leadership in program policy, development, implementation, assessment, contract negotiation, communication and evaluation. The incumbent will be responsible for the realization of increased college eligibility, preparation, and enrollment within these regions, largely functioning with autonomy to establish program goals, budgets, and personnel. They will be responsible for grant oversight, compliance, and meeting of grant deliverables within these assigned regions, including hiring, supervision, training, and support to direct service staff. They will represent the program internally and externally - leading communication with funders - and will work with administration to reach both programming and unit goals/strategic plans. The incumbent will also actively participate in numerous cross-functional teams with EPC staff, school/district staff, and university personnel.



APPOINTMENT INFORMATION



Budgeted Salary: $99,600 - $106,590 / Annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The salary shown above is the budgeted amount the University reasonably expects to pay and the salary extended should not exceed this posted amount.
