About the Job: Our client, a leading real estate firm specializing in industrial properties nationwide, is currently seeking a Property Accountant to join their team in Carmel, IN
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting group and managing the financial aspects of a significant portfolio of industrial properties
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to accounting department deadlines.
- Maintain accuracy of general ledger information.
- Review abstracted leases in Yardi, ensuring accuracy of property and tenant information.
- Prepare annual property budgets and recoverable charges reconciliation.
- Manage tenant billing, communication, and collections.
- Oversee property payables, including appropriate coding.
- Monitor real estate tax payment due dates and process payments.
- Perform general accounting tasks such as journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Handle various ad hoc projects as assigned.
Key Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across different mediums (in person, email, phone).
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Diligent self-review of work, self-starting attitude, and flexibility in task assignments.
- Yardi experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with an accounting concentration preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of property accounting experience or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated related work experience, as discussed in the cover letter.
