About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team and provide high-quality healthcare to inmates within our Client's correctional facility. As a Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patient population.
Work Schedule:
- Night Shift:This position requires working weekdays from 10PM-8:30AM (10 hr shifts*40 hr)
Your Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Care:Deliver evidence-based nursing care across a full spectrum, including routine check-ups, chronic disease management, and emergency response, ensuring continuity of care from admission to discharge.
- Clinical Expertise:Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to create individualized patient care plans.
- Treatment Delivery:Provide a wide range of services, including 24/7 nursing care, telemedicine consultations, chronic care clinic management, sick call screenings, medication administration, patient education, and basic life support/emergency care.
- Collaboration & Communication:Maintain open communication with other departments, including security and treatment teams, to ensure seamless patient care. Effectively document pertinent information in the health record while upholding patient confidentiality.
- Leadership & Delegation:Possess the ability to delegate tasks and workload effectively to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
- Professional Development:Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through continuing education opportunities, with a focus on correctional nursing practices.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Registered Nurse:Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing program and a valid and unrestricted Virginia RN license or a multi-state compact license are required. Recent graduates must have the NCLEX-RN exam scheduled at the time of application.
- Current Certifications:Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
- Correctional Experience (Preferred):Prior experience working in a correctional or law enforcement environment is a plus.
- Mental Health Experience (Preferred):Previous experience working with mental health patients is highly regarded.
- Clinical Background (Preferred):Experience in acute care and/or community health settings is beneficial.
- Flexibility:You must be adaptable and willing to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the facility's needs.
