Director of Assessment and Planning Job ID: 11310 Location: El Paso, TX Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: $RegTemp FLSA Status Exempt Posting End Date Open until filled. Earliest Start Date As soon as possible. Salary $70,000 annually. Hours per Week Exempt Position: 40 hours per week. Specific tasks or responsibilities will be documented in the incumbents' performance objectives as outlined by the incumbents' immediate supervisor or manager. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and must be insurable as defined in the UT System UTS 157, as applicable to the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of the position. Purpose of Position The Director is responsible for the assessment and data management efforts for the Division of Student Affairs. The Director is involved in the strategic mission and vision of the division. The Director plays an integral role in the divisional annual reports that demonstrate a variety of high-impact experiences. The director supports the promotion and assessment of activities, programs, and services through established learning outcomes and other metrics. In order to be successful, the Director will need to work collaboratively Academic Affairs, Business Affairs, the Center for Institutional Evaluation, Research, and Planning as well as many departments throughout the University. Essential Functions Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment plan for the Division of Student Affairs that aligns with the university mission and strategic plan Assist Student Affairs departments in conducting and reporting learning and program outcome evaluations Administer, analyze, and generate reports on program initiatives and the student experience to inform Student Affairs departments, Academic Affairs partners, and campus leadership Train Student Affairs staff to gather assessment evidence of student learning and development to improve programs and services Identify and monitor key performance metrics to assess progress in divisional programmatic and operational goals. Create dashboards, infographics, and other data communication tools to demonstrate impact on student success Provide ongoing analysis of the student experience with the aim of improving programs and services within the Division of Student Affairs Lead the divisional assessment committee and yearly assessment symposium efforts Partner with professionals and departments across campus in assessment initiatives Support campus-wide assessments, including accreditation and compliance Maintain and manage Student Affairs assessment software platforms including training initiatives and accountability of use Encourage and conduct research focused on student learning, best practices, and the trends in the college student experience Represent Student Affairs in University assessment initiatives, committees, etc. Participate in University committees as appropriate Other: Participate in committees, trainings, and conferences hosted by industry professional organizations and UTEP Other duties may be assigned Comply with all federal, state and University policies Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems Understands and implement Student Affair's role in accomplishing the University's mission Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies, and applicable laws. Required Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Education required: Bachelor's Degree Minimum Experience required : Five (5) years professional work experience in assessment and data management with proven ability to plan strategically, develop innovative programs, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and manage budgets and resources. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience: Seven years professional experience at a college or university in assessment and data management. Involvement in professional organizations with a focus on assessment and data mangement. Demonstrated use of Anthology platforms.
