Job description
Positions Overview
This position is responsible for commodity contract execution & settlement of commodities in support of trade teams. The position will be key in working cross functional with traders, merchandisers, accountants & logistics teams to provide detailed support
Key Responsibilities
- Input & review purchase & sales contracts traded by merchandisers & traders.
- Establish & maintain delivery & shipment files that align with commodities.
- Process settlements of commodities, including, but limited to, BOLs, delivery/receipt tickets, discounts as applicable, freight & other associated revenues & expenses.
- Work collaboratively with trade, accounting, & logistics teams to identify issues that are impeding the delivery process.
- Ensure timely & accurate processing of payments.
- Build & foster a team environment for all supported businesses.
- Fully understand all aspects of invoicing, including follow up & collection through to payment receipt.
- Prepare, receive & review documentation in accordance to company policy.
- Follow all regulations & rules, such first purchaser & lien requirements, export declarations, & insurance reporting.
- Provide excellent customer service by fostering positive relationships & strong follow-up with customer issues, both internal & external.
- Provide detailed information, as needed, to the business managers, & corresponding management team.
- Perform all duties in a proactive manner to ensure all policies & procedures are followed in accordance with company standards.
- Learn & effectively utilize all applicable operating systems.
- Maintain thorough communicate with suppliers, buyers, freight forwarders, surveyors, agents, & other key partners as needed.
- Be a team player through assisting with special projects & other co-workers as needed, & any other duties as assigned.
- Maintain proper filing & document retention in accordance with company standards and requirements.
Skills
- Good communication skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good analytical skills.
- Basic math skills required.
- Basic understanding of agricultural commodities trading business in U.S.
- Computer experience needs to include in depth use Microsoft suite (Excel & Word specifically)
- College degree preferred but not required.
