The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is excited to announce an opportunity to serve as an Engineer Associate (EDGE).

These positions are located in Northern Virginia, Staunton, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Central Office – Downtown Richmond and Charlottesville, Bristol, Lynchburg, Hampton Roads, Culpeper and Salem Districts.

The goal of the EDGE Program is to assist you in developing your civil engineering expertise and career. Newly hired EDGE Associates will be paid at an advertised market competitive salary rate upon hire and for the length of the two-year program as outlined below.

At the Virginia Department of Transportation, we have something for you.   The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is looking for the best and brightest recent college graduates for its Engineering Development and Growth Experience (EDGE) Program. As an EDGE Associate, you will be offered a meaningful hands-on learning experience, provided with expert coaching and mentoring and receive targeted training to enhance your knowledge and skills.

VDOT is responsible for building, maintaining and operating the state’s roads, bridges, tunnels and ferry systems. Through the Commonwealth Transportation Board, VDOT also provides funding for airports, rail and public transportation. Virginia has the third largest state-maintained highway system in the country, employing just over 7,000 employees across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
