JOB SUMMARY:

 

Assists on the development with Human Resources policies and programs for the entire company, with major areas covered being organizational planning, organizational development, employment, indoctrination and training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety and health, and employee services. Originates Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide a balanced program throughout all divisions. Coordinates implementation through Human Resources staff. Assists and advises Senior Management on Human Resources issues.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

  1. Introduces new employees to company policies and procedures.
    1. Conducts New Hire Orientation and Safety Training.
    2. Interprets Employee Handbooks for employees seeking guidance.
  2. Acts as a key member in Supervisor training regarding HR policies.
    1. Assist supervisors with action steps within the disciplinary process.
    2. Provides training for supervisors regarding performance reviews and documentation.
    3. Provides oversight with department investigations.
  3. Assumes responsibility for managing Human Resources files and producing reports.
    1. Manages Employee personnel files.
    2. Tracks and manages FMLA claims.
    3. Tracks attendance, keeping managers informed of unexcused absences and handling attendance discipline.
    4. Manages Unemployment claims.
      1. Participates in any Unemployment hearings.
      2. Files appeals for adverse decisions.
    5. Manages I-9 compliance.
      1. Keeps I-9 up-to-date and assures all forms are complete and filed.
    6. Handles Benefits Administration.
      1. Enrolls new employees in benefits, makes appropriate changes, and terminates benefits as necessary.
      2. Acts as the main liaison with benefit providers.
      3. Educates employees on benefits, answering questions and solving issues when possible.
    7. Creates HR reports when necessary.
    8. Assists in planning quarterly and annual performance reviews.
    9. Forecasts hiring needs and helps ensure the hiring process goes smoothly.
  4. Assumes other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

ACTIVITIES:

 

 

Sedentary office work, sitting for long hours.

HEARING:

 

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

 

REPETITIVE MOTION:

 

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

 

VISUAL ABILITIES:

 

Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

 

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

 

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

 

Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant.  The plant environment is wet, damp and cold (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts.  Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
