About the Role & Team
Disney World Shared Services, Procurement Services provides a variety of purchasing services in support of The Walt Disney Company and its Affiliates around the world. Making buying decisions, handling warehouse inventory, processing orders, expediting, setting up new vendors and stock keeping units (SKUs), managing change orders, resolving vendor payment issues, providing customer service, supporting key clients, and ensuring compliance to company policies are some of the primary responsibilities of the team.
DWSS Procurement Services also provides subject matter expertise as it relates to procurement related activities at The Walt Disney Company. Team members work in a variety of purchasing, and inventory management systems (e.g. SAP, NALA, Amos, etc.), and are constantly called upon for their expertise in understanding how the process and/or systems work.
DWSS Procurement Services is a part of the Disney Worldwide Shared Services organization and functions within the Purchase to Pay, end-to-end process. Process re-engineering and leveraging technology to gain efficiencies and productivity enhancements; continue to be the main drivers of success for the team.
What You Will Do
Food & Beverage at the Theme Parks and Resorts are a high volume category. Over 800,000 orders, in the U.S. locations alone, are generated annually to support this category. The focus of this role is primarily on item setup, vendor setup, system data maintenance, price uploads and bids, and general customer service communications. This role will also have responsibility in ensuring we have the needed food and beverage items, in the right quantities, at the right time. As a number of food items (proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, and dairy) are perishable and have short shelf life, product spoilage is critical for the team. The Purchase to Pay – Data Maintenance and Inventory Buyer F&B’s performance will be evaluated on their ability to maintain proper inventory levels (high order fill rates and inventory turnover for working capital benefits), while minimizing product obsolescence (food spoilage).
Data Maintenance – Item Setup, Vendor Setup, Item and Vendor Changes, price downloads and uploads, low bid notifications, daily reporting
Provide customer service and assist with issue resolution
Inventory Buyer – Manage category of supplier/items for warehouse replenishment. Optimization of inventory to reduce outages and risk of spoilage.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience with purchasing and purchasing products for warehouse inventories (minimum 3 years)
Experience purchasing food or beverage items (minimum 1 year)
Strong Analytical Skills
Strong communication & interpersonal skills (persuasion & influencing)
Detail oriented (focus on quality and not necessarily speed)
Collaborative Teammate
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of applications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with forecasting models, inventory and/or supply chain management
Process Re-engineering experience: Green Belt, Black Belt
Change Management experience
Project Management experience
CPM – Certified Purchasing Manager
Education
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration

The hiring range for this position in California is $63,500 - $77,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
