What We're Looking For:
PSQ Productions is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Event Programming to join our highly dedicated and motivated team who will oversee strategic planning and execution of signature events such as Winter Fest OC, Passport to Savings, Irvine Nights, Nonprofit events, and Beer Festivals. The role entails infusing creativity, championing design concepts, and fostering partnerships. Responsibilities include curating attractions, managing vendors and talent, and ensuring seamless integration. The Director is also responsible for driving business growth and revenue, overseeing quality control, crisis management, and team development while evaluating event impact for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Event Programming:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for signature events such as Winter Fest OC, Passport to Savings, Irvine Nights, Nonprofit events, Beer Festivals, and other self-produced and client events.
- Define clear and measurable objectives for each event, aligning them with the company's vision and brand identity.
- Conduct thorough market research and audience analysis to identify target demographics, preferences, and trends.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conceptualize unique event themes and experiences that resonate with attendees.
- Curate a diverse lineup of attractions, performances, and interactive experiences tailored to various age groups and interests.
- Innovation and Trends:
- Infuse creativity and imagination into event experiences, akin to Disney Imagineers' approach.
- Lead creative development, collaborating to conceptualize immersive event themes.
- Champion innovative design concepts and interactive experiences.
- Foster a culture of imagination, empowering team members to contribute creatively.
- Explore emerging technologies and trends to enhance event storytelling.
- Ensure seamless integration of creativity with logistical considerations.
- Evaluate creative impact through audience feedback and metrics for continuous improvement.
- Community Partnerships:
- Identify and build partnerships with local organizations to enhance event programming and community engagement.
- Collaborate with partners to develop and implement new programs that align with the company's mission and objectives.
- Vendor and Talent Management:
- Source and select vendors, suppliers, and service providers that align with event requirements and budget.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and compliance with event standards.
- Coordinate talent selection, negotiation, and logistics to deliver captivating performances and entertainment experiences.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between departments to integrate event programming seamlessly.
- Align event programming with marketing, finance, operations, and design efforts to maximize impact and ROI.
- Provide creative input and problem-solving support to address challenges and enhance event experiences.
- Quality Control and Evaluation:
- Define performance metrics and implement data collection methods to evaluate event success.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and analyze attendee feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and licensing requirements for event programming.
- Crisis Management and Contingency Planning:
- Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to handle unforeseen challenges or emergencies.
- Communicate evaluation findings and insights with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Team Training and Development:
- Invest in continuous training and development for the events team to foster innovation and expertise.
- Encourage a culture of experimentation and creativity to deliver fresh and engaging event experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field
- Proven experience in event production, programming, and management, with a focus on large-scale festivals, concerts, and community events.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and creativity.
