Job description

Responsible for managing the Business Services Strategy Team, consisting of Analysts. Ensures timely and accurate completion of all client-facing RFx and proactive proposal deliverables.
- Trains team on internal project management guidelines.
- Reviews and assigns new RFx projects.
- Ensures projects are completed on time, and accurately.
- Tracks/monitors team workload and bandwidth and provides senior management reporting on RFx activity.
- Reviews client facing deliverables from team ensuring customization to the customer and scope of opportunity.
- Participates client meetings and presentations.
- Shares new concepts, ideas, tools, resources, and bid responses with project analysts to encourage innovation and maintain consistent understanding across the team.
- Periodically evaluates tools and resources; identifying new approaches or technologies to enhance efficiency of the team.
- Maintains relationships with industry associations and bring best practices to the team.
- Provides immediate feedbacks and coaching when issues are identified with team member performance or project quality.
- Creates a development plan for each direct report and coaches team members to achieve goals and priorities.
- Performs all required management tasks (Interviews, training, employee development, employee discussions, performance reviews etc.); address any employee issues and document appropriately.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 7 years of related experience and management of typically two or more regular full-time employees (one of whom must be exempt).
- Degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing related subject preferred.
- Experience in proposal management or directly related fields such as sales support, marketing, journalism or communications. Prior management experience preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a proficient, persuasive writer.
- Strong research & analytical skills are required.
- Attention to detail balanced by an equally strong view of the larger goal.
- Must have a professional image and polished presentation skills.
- Project management skills required.
- Ability to interface and negotiate with senior executives.
- Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated success in writing and managing proposals.
- Show good judgment and escalate problems when necessary.
- Competent in research skills and must be a superior writer of evidence-based proposals.
- Supervisory ability to manage projects and proposal teams.
- Must be skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio).
- Experience with proposal software and Adobe required.
- Must be able to travel to client sites, including overnights approx. 15% of time (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
- May be required to work non-standard hours due to client deadlines.
- APMP or PMP certification is a plus.
- Requires printing and packaging client-facing deliverables in a local Canon Solutions America, Inc. office. Must be able to lift and move boxes/packages weighing less than 15 lbs.

 

 
In accordance with applicable law we are providing the anticipated base salary for this role: $96,880 - $145,090
