Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Computer Instructor to create an enriching learning environment for refugee/immigrant clients in our dynamic multilevel classroom of adult learners. As a Computer Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in empowering our clients with essential computer skills, starting from the basics and progressing to an intermediate level, ultimately facilitating their journey towards navigating a professional job search.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement engaging curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of adult learners, covering topics ranging from Fundamentals of Computers to Online Job Application Lifecycle Course.
Conduct classroom and remote instruction with a focus on small group, teacher-directed, and self-paced learning experiences.
Administer assessments and monitor client progress, ensuring alignment with grant requirements.
Prepare comprehensive lesson plans and maintain accurate records of attendance, test results, and client progress.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop recruitment and retention strategies, fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
Provide culturally competent client services and support, demonstrating respect for diversity and inclusion.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (minimum) in a relevant field.
2+ years of experience in curriculum design, ESOL teaching, and computer-based instruction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and WhatsApp.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and within a team.
Familiarity with current principles and techniques of computer instruction and platforms.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in STEM education with a focus on computer science or related certification.
