Job description
The Human Capital Generalist is responsible for timely service to current and former employees by providing information about a wide range of human capital programs and services (benefits, staffing, training, employee information, payroll, on boarding, and leave administration) as the primary contact for the district. The HC Generalist administers plans and programs in compliance with Company policy and procedures, plan documents, and governmental regulations. The HC Generalist must deploy critical thinking and detail orientation skills to solve problems and inform employees on human capital programs in an accurate and timely manner.
1. Provides process and system support and general information and guidance to employees in all functional areas of HC, including recruiting and selection, employee relations, compensation and benefits, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and legal requirements (FMLA, COBRA, etc).
2. Provides internal process and system support to functional areas within the HC business unit, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and legal requirements (FMLA, COBRA, etc).
3. Communicates effectively and exercises sound judgment and discretion in the resolution of problems/issues and in the collection and dissemination of confidential employee information; ensuring that highly sensitive, proprietary and confidential information is released only to those authorized.
4. Interacts effectively with others in a team setting to produce appropriate work product. Works closely with Leaders, Human Capital Business Partners, and labor relations to provide counsel and input on appropriate handling of more sensitive situations.
5. Seeks out discrepancies (enrollment, system errors, employee reported, etc.) and expedites work to appropriately resolve issues. Ensures timeliness and high rate of accuracy when entering data and/or reviewing data entered.
6. Analyzes work processes and proactively identifies potential improvements. Identifies recurring issues, problematic trends, and recommends changes in procedures.
Required:
¿ Bachelor¿s degree in Human Resources or related field or combination of education and two (2) years of relevant HR generalist experience.
¿ Must demonstrate effective communication and human relation skills in terms of customer service and problem resolution provided to employees.
¿ Must be able to advance to an expert level of knowledge of human resources practices, regulations, and applicable laws.
Desired:
¿ HR certification (PHR/SPHR).
¿ Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and PeopleSoft.
