Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our talented team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at WTCP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care and improve their outcomes. This is a Long Term Care Facility. The LPN will be performing assessments, treatments, medication administration, notification to MD/NP of pertinent information, admitting/discharging, ADL assistance, gastrostomy tube care, urinary catheter care, nebulized treatment, wound vac care, CPAP care and other assigned duties.
- The location is in Hilo, HI, United States
- The working schedule for this role is Day, Evening and Night shift available (shift will be discussed during interview)
- The duration is for a contractor for 13 weeks
- The anticipated start for this role is two weeks after an accepted offer
- Holiday coverage is required

Key Responsibilities:
- Plans and manages patient care according to each patients needs
- Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition
- Provides routine care for patients
- Observes patients health
- Reviews medical charts
- Assists physicians and registered nurses
- Takes and monitors patient vital signs
- Assists patients with eating, dressing, and bathing
- Administer medication
- Communicates changes in patient behavior or health status to nurses, physicians, and family members
- Maintains accurate patient records
- Collects specimen samples when needed
- Oversees Certified Nursing Assistants and training
- Prepares patients for transfers or discharge
- Assists in medical procedures
- Provides wound care
- Monitors catheters
- Manages emergency medical situations
Qualifications:
- Completion of state approved training program (generally in the form of a diploma, certificate, or associate degree)
- 1 or more years recent nursing experience in long term care.
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - must have passed NCLEX-PN exam
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff
- Basic computer skills
- Professional, friendly attitude
