Position: Information Technology (IT) Project Manager
Type: Full Time
Location: Northern VA and via telework
Summary
INTER-OP is currently seeking an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager to provide support to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the principal law enforcement agency charged with enforcement of U.S. import trade policies at the nation's borders. CBP is mandated by law to detect, investigate and interdict smuggling of prohibited articles and other contraband.
Responsibilities
- Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met. Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.
- Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
- Lead and guide the work of technical staff.
- Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage.
- Monitor progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
Qualifications / Experience
- Possess 5+ years of hands-on project management experience and leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams, demonstrating a proven track record in successfully leading and delivering complex information systems and computer network support services.
- Real-world experience in project management encompassing the end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation to completion, and real-world leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Currently have a bachelor's degree in business management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience of 10+ years in project management encompassing the end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation to completion, and real-world leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
- Must possesses one or more of the following professional certifications:
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Project Director (CPD)
- Master Project Manager (MPM)
