Position Purpose:
The Transportation Lead responsible for ensuring deliveries are made in safe, efficient and timely manner. Assists with monitoring Department of Transportation (DOT) logs, ensures drivers are in compliance with all DOT and OpCo regulations, and coordinates the tracking of all relevant information on drivers. Also ensures drivers have correct paperwork & assigned equipment. Will also handle all required communications.
Primary Responsibilities: - Coach and train drivers on fundamentals of executing a customer delivery, scanning, hours of service, EDVIR's.
- Scanner Admin. – Oversee all scanners inquiries/repairs, scanner usage, and ensure all equipment is accounted for.
- Observe and conduct ongoing evaluation of both pre and post trip inspections.
- Ensure dispatching solutions complies with FMCSA, OSHA, CSA and DOT HOS regulations.
- Complete driver check-in with returning drivers to include, but not limited to, collecting POD scanners, verify upload, collecting tractor keys, audit paperwork, and validate checks.
- Assist in reporting & processing both accident & injuries, review board and safety committee.
- Monitor trip dispatches, driver’s arrival, and departure times for dispatch, ensure all documentation regarding changes, adds or deletes is printed and with trips from emails.
- Cover Computer Room printing of daily invoices as needed.
- In absence of clerk, continue track and trace and insure all are aware of delays. Assist with calls for late reporting and send at 10am.
- Assist clerk in obtaining truck and trailer information and key distribution at time of dispatch.
- Cover most supervisor functions; Logs, call out, trip coverage, and pass down information in supervisor absence.
- Monitor on-time deliveries and update routes in DCMS based on delivery requests and delivery window changes.
- Performs data entry and tote tracking as needed.
- Monitors fueling diesel and coordinates vehicle repairs with on-site maintenance provider.
- Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
1+ years of Transportation, Operations or Logistics experience and/or 2+ years of experience in an office environment
Internal Candidates:
Must be in current role for at least 6 months
No corrective/disciplinary actions in the last 6 months
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS Degree in Business/Logistics or Accounting
Distribution and/or Transportation environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
ON Board Computers
Warehouse Management systems
All a plus
