Job Title: Data Engineer
Primary Objective/Functions: Supporting data preparation and implementation efforts to ensure clean, verified, up-to-date data.
Reports To : IT Director
Directly Supervises: Data Associate
Scheduled Hours: Mon-Fri / 8am-5pm

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Add, remove, maintain item records in item master for managed items.
- Assign product Core Attributes of newly added product.
- Assign product listing attributes of clearance and used product.
- Assist in review, assignment and update of product attributes including pricing, pricing programs, categories, rebates, images and documents for product approved for online listing.
- Create and link product listings to marketplaces defined by Direct Supervisor.
- Ensure new data elements are not duplications of existing core data elements.
- Ensure timely inactivation of obsolete data elements.
- Validate, clean and transform data extracted from various sources for loading into ERP system.
- Proactively monitor and control data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency). Identify item related problems, correct issues and issues and offer recommendations based on these findings.
- Participate in and contribute to data and IT quality enhancement projects.
- Create saved searches, workflows, reports and dashboards to optimize and automate data reporting.
- Investigate and resolve day to day issues identified and submitted to the data Help Desk.
- Assist with identification and resolution of root cause issues with data integrations and disruptions between CPQ, ERP, E-Commerce and Marketplace systems.
- Item data collection for critical item attributes including lead times, weights and dimensions.
- Design and develop improvements to data flow pipelines within ERP system and across other systems.
- Create and maintain documentation related to data standards and processes.
- Support data processing needs of various departments.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies that may be useful to the organization’s data needs.
- Other duties as assigned related to improvement of team performance & processes
Requirements
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Professional written and verbal communication ability.
- Ability to maintain composure while working under pressure on multiple competing priorities with strong personalities. Courteous and willing to collaborate with co-workers.
- Ability to maintain routine tasks and responsibilities.
- Comfortable with asking questions and seeking clarification when needed.
- Comfortable obtaining and manipulating data to fit various requirements.
- Comfortable working across multiple IT tools (ERP, CPQ, ticketing, project management, e-commerce, reporting, communication, etc.).
- Logic, reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Documentation skills.
Education and Training
- 2 years of professional work experience.
- Understanding of SQL and table relationships.
- Proficient with basic mathematics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (creating/using formulas, lookups, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, Google office suite, Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with tools for automation, data extraction and data cleansing.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
- Willingness to participate in continuous learning of current and new technology tools.
