Summary
The primary responsibility of the Junior System technician is to be responsible for performing maintenance of customer equipment and adjuncts on customer premises. This position will receive assignments from the Resource Scheduler, Project Manager or Director. The Technician will keep detailed records for time reporting, customer records for billing purposes.

Essential Function
- Assists with professional services rack, stack and patching engagements
- Smart hands for troubleshooting operating systems, servers or network connectivity issues
- Manages workload in a manner that meets defined deadlines
- Documents status of work performed with accurate and detailed notes
- Demonstrates high standard of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgment, independence, and discretion
- Develops positive working relationships with internal and external customers
- Assists in determining specific customer network requirements
- Assists in developing implementation plans
- Customer facing / presentation skills
- Documentation skills – ability to deliver basic documentation
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours as needed for critical functions

- Travels to customer locations
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong Computer Skills
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritization skills
- Customer Facing Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and with written documentation
- Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision
- Ability to apply judgment, implement solutions, and resolve conflicts, all in a multi-tasked environment
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Basic knowledge of Cisco network switching products
- Basic knowledge of Storage platforms (EMC, NetApp, Pure).
- COMPTIA or CCNA
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Associate/Bachelor degree in IT or related field (Industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- Cisco Certified Systems Engineer (CCNP) a plus
- Up to 2 years work Experience in a technology field a plus
- IT Consulting/ VAR experience a plus
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Moderate knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Moderate knowledge of Cisco network switching products
- Moderate knowledge of Storage platforms (EMC, NetApp, Pure).
