Regional Marketing Specialist for our New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania territories.
The
Regional Marketing Specialist will be an integral part of a full service Regional Office team located in Mt. Laurel, NJ. In addition to Marketing – the Region also includes Claims, Underwriting and Premium Audit.
The Regional Marketing Specialist will collaborate with other team members focusing on managing and developing our relationships with agency partners to profitably achieve growth goals for Commercial Line products, by providing sales assistance, education and training. The optimal candidate will manage the growth and profitability of an assigned territory, adding value to our agency partners by developing and implementing customized business & marketing plans that support our mutual goals.

Merchants offers its colleagues a Hybrid work schedule. The Hybrid work schedule requires 8 days per month in the office, with the option to work the remaining days at home or in the office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Cultivating solid relationships with Agents while working towards achieving the most optimal outcomes for Merchants and our policyholders.
- Achieving direct written premium goals for assigned territory by building mutually rewarding agency relationships through leveraging Merchants products, value added services and an outstanding agency compensation package.
- Managing and developing agents primarily through virtual individual and group agency calls. These agency calls form the basis for cultivating intimate professional relationships with agency customers – which differentiate Merchants from the competition.
- Providing competitive intelligence to assist Sales and Product Development with product enhancements, rate revisions and building competitive selling advantages.
- Provides sales assistance, training and education to assigned Agents.
- Participating in agency management and development initiatives which include Agency Reviews and Business Planning; maintaining accurate and updated agency profile and management information in Merchants Customer Relationship Management program (APEX); developing and implementing target marketing programs and creating sales opportunity by following up on new and renewal business accounts.
Qualifications & Skills: - Qualified candidates will have a 4 year degree or equivalent work related experience.
- Up to 3 years commercial lines underwriting, sales or marketing experience with an insurance company or agency is required.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, desk management, communication and customer service skills are required.
- Ability to use online conferencing tools such as Skype and GoToMeeting.
- Well-developed presentation skills.
- Microsoft office knowledge to include PowerPoint.
- The ability to travel periodically.
Merchants Insurance Group Pay information: Merchants Insurance Group offers a competitive pay scale. The actual compensation will be determined based upon experience and other factors permitted by law. The pay range for this position is $57,307 - $76,390.
