Located 30 miles north of Charlotte, Mooresville is a large town located in south western section of Iredell County, North Carolina, and is a part of the fast-growing Charlotte Metro area. 

The plant was built in 1996, manufactures cups, lids, and trays, and has approximately 700 employees. This plant was also awarded the Safety Plant of the Year and Food Service Manufacturer of the Year Award.

Production Manager Job Posting

The Production Manager will effectively lead the Production team to successful safety, quality, and production results, while working to build and improve upon a culture of teamwork, accountability, ownership, and success. This position will work with many levels in the organization, will work primarily daytime hours but will need to be available to their team’s as needed in the off-hours. This position will work in a manufacturing environment and will be on the floor regularly touching base with operators, packers, process, and maintenance teams, and ensuring the lines are running smoothly. This position directly oversees 4 Supervisors and indirectly about 350 staff as well.

Job Description:

· Responsible for providing leadership and direction to Thermoforming department, product line(s) or profit center(s) and teams in order to meet production goals, ensure a safe work environment, and meet customer specifications.

· Typically manages 350+ employees including both salaried and hourly.

· Track, & monitor production and costs to ensure unit meets established goals while maintaining a safe work environment and quality standards.

· Maintain effective workforce through hiring, training, coaching and disciplinary actions.

· Implement and demonstrate best practices and consistent policies.

· Analyze and interpret production data in order to set plans and pursue results. Complete and maintain timely and accurate reports such as efficiency, downtime, cost, etc. to measure and drive results.

· Comfortable with cross function communication at various levels.

· Develop and implement safety awareness programs, communicate safety issues, correct safety related problems, and lead investigations into safety related issues.

· Participate in designing and implementing continuous improvement processes.

· Champions excellence programs to include, not limited to, Pactiv Evergreen Production Systems

Qualifications:

· BA/BS degree preferred in Industrial Management, Engineering or Business.

· 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred including 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

· Inspirational leader who has a high level of interpersonal skill and emotional intelligence.

· Must be able to demonstrate analytical skills to include knowledge of statistical methods and process improvement techniques.

· Must demonstrate proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Effective team building and demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to mentor and coach employees.

· Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels in the organization.
