Job Description
Responsible to assist or have full ownership of the hardware designs with the ability to capture customer and/or marketing requirements to effectively develop and launch mass production automotive products including:
- Technical interface to internal and external customers for HW requirements, HW inquiries, and quality topics
- Hardware requirements elicitation, circuit design, worst case circuit analysis, simulations, fault-tree-analysis, FMEA and similar design disciplines
- Technical responsibility for selection of components
- Product validation, EMC, vehicle and related test/troubleshooting activities.
- Manage required development tasks to launch designs into series production
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BS in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or similar Engineering discipline
- 7+ years experience in circuit design for electronic hardware projects, preferably at Tier 1 automotive electronics company
- 3+ years of Hardware Project Leadership
Preferred:
- MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Understanding and experience with typical industry practices and OEM customer requirements for design of electrical products
- Full life cycle hardware development experience for automotive electronics products (requirements, concept, component selection, worst case analysis, simulation, validation, production launch)
- Knowledge of proper design methods to reduce RFI, EMI and ESD to pass automotive specifications
- Worked through DVP&R Testing
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve through both an individual analytical and collaborative approach
- Full life cycle hardware development experience for automotive electronics products (requirements, concept, component selection, worst case analysis, simulation, validation, production launch)
- Circuit design and implementation experience in such areas as CAN, Ethernet, Load Drivers, Motor Control, Microcontrollers/Microprocessors, Memory, On-Board Power Management
