Reports to: Sports Program Coordinator

Supervises: Pickleball Games & Tournaments

Wage: $13-$15/hour

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Pickleball League & Tournament Supervisor serves under the direction of and general supervision of the Sports Program Coordinators and the Recreation Directors. Dates of league play are April -May and August- September. Tournaments are April 12&13, June 14&15, and December 20&21. Hours may vary depending on season and league programming. Pickleball League Supervisor should possess knowledge of general rules, and have skills in communicating effectively with any players, officials, and spectators. FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Working under the direct supervision of the recreation program coordinators.

• Attending all scheduled games and arriving 30 minutes prior to first game time.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Making sure all play stays on schedule.
• Submittal of supervised staff hours.
• Saturday hours.
• Weeknight hours.
• Setup/take down and clean-up of facilities.
• Substituting as a supervisor for other programs within the recreation department.
• Assisting with all other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must have good oral and written communication abilities.
• Good public relations skills and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with all ages.
• Knowledge of Pickleball rules.
• Ability to follow basic safety precautions and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
• Ability to make sound decisions in sometimes stressful environments.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Experience working in a supervisory position is preferred but not required.

CONDITIONS

• Moderate physical activity. Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds.

• Position requires walking, standing, lifting, and other physical activity.
• Work Weeknights and or Saturdays.
