Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time Senior Systems Administrator opportunity available based in Doral, FL. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
SOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) is working to deliver and operationalize information technology (IT) services for all US SOUTHCOM combatant command constructed networks. These constructed networks span the US SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Work performed under this Task Order directly provides US SOUTHCOM a defensible, secure, modern, and efficient IT infrastructure across all combatant command constructed networks.
This position supports SOUTHCOM's transformative move to a Zero Trust Architecture in alignment with the DoD Zero Trust Strategy and Executive Order (EO) 14028.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES - Responsible for systems administration, operations, maintenance, and associated activities of platforms installed throughout the USSOUTHCOM, enterprise.
- Provide Tier 3 system administration support for 24/7 operations within the US SOUTHCOM Joint DoDIN Operations Center (JDOC).
- Deploy Operating System, baseline software updates, and third-party updates via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Administer Active Directory: users, groups, objects, forests/trees/domains/child domains, DNS, Group Policy/AGPM, ADFS, AD LDS, etc.
- Administer VMware virtual environments to include ESXi hosts, vCenter appliances, Vsphere, Horizon, VDI, profile unity, and VSANs.
- Responsible for applying security principles, practices, and procedures under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to maintain compliance with applicable security regulations.
- Download, stage and deploy systems-related security policies and updates to maintain information system compliance with DISA security policies and procedures (STIGs, IAVAs, etc.)
- Creates and maintains detailed system documentation.
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
- Develop scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) to perform recurring systems administration tasks, automate installs, gather metrics, etc.
- Troubleshoots highly complex system hardware and software issues.
- Develops training materials for end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
- Develops implementation plans for software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
- Leads efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Conducts advanced hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Support change management activities and resolve Tier 3 hardware and software problems.
- Coordinate with vendor tier 4 support to troubleshoot issues as required.
- Develops advanced technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
Required QUALIFICATIONS - Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- Experience administering enterprise environments, supporting Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of servers (physical and virtual), Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, etc), databases (SQL, Oracle), collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, Jabber), virtualization technology, software applications, scripting, SANs, and computer security in an enterprise.
- Experience Windows infrastructure services: DHCP, DNS. Authentication, Active Directory, Group Policy, profile management support services, desktop software provisioning.
- Experience with infrastructure including but not limited to: data center operations, server hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), web servers, databases, virtualization (VMware), networking, storage, monitoring, etc.
- Experience with VMware technologies: Vcenter, Vsphere, ESXi, VSAN, Horizon, etc.
- Experience with Liquidware Profile Unity, Dell Wyse Management Suite.
- BA/BS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience or 10+ years of experience.
- DoD 8570 compliant: IAT Level II or III Baseline Certification.
- Computing Environment (CE) Certificate.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Microsoft Administrator Certification (MCSA, MCSE, DP-300, AZ-104 etc.).
- VMWare Certifications: Desktop Management (VCP-DTM).
- Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV ).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - In some occasions, overnight travel may be required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), lists applicable current vaccination requirements by location.
Office setting:
- Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
- May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
