Follett issearching for a Project Engineer – Refrigerator/Freezersto join our team in Easton, PA.

Lead the engineering and implementation of new product concepts and sustaining product improvements by developing, selecting, and refining design concepts; completing engineering analysis and qualification testing; and documenting product designs in accordance with Follett standards. Lead cross-functional teams for new product development and significant product / process improvement projects; develop project plans and coordinate activities of assigned resources, prepare budgets and schedules, and coordinate production launch activities.

Responsibilities

• Innovation and design of components, component assemblies and electronics for ice making and dispensing products.
• Refrigeration system and control design.
• Hands-on build-up of concept prototypes for design review and functional proof-of-concept verification testing.
• Conduct design and process FMEA’s.
• Oversee and manage Engineering support staff activities.
• Conduct design reviews with cross-functional and management participation.
• Interact with suppliers to qualify and maintain acceptable parts.
• First piece inspection of fabricated and supplier parts.
• Stay current with applicable Federal, State, and local agency standards to assure that new designs, and changes to existing designs, can achieve safety, energy, and environmental regulatory compliance.
• In-house fabrication and manufacturing support for both new and mature products.
• Lead sustainable continuous improvement relative to process capability, quality, and cost.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Refrigerator/Freezer Appliance product design background preferred.
• Responsible work ethic and pro-active initiative.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic 3D CAD modeling capability.
• Enjoys a “hands on” dynamic work environment.
