Specific Job Title: Financial Aid Advisor for Institutional Endowed and Expendable Awards
Reports to: Maryanne Twomey

Financial Aid Advisor for Institutional Endowed and Expendable Awards Job Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Advisor for Institutional and Expendable Awards shall be responsible for Awarding reviewing and monitoring of all endowed and expendable scholarships funded through donors to the University.
Essential Functions: - Working closely with student endowed and expendable scholarship recipients to ensure that they understand the donor thank you process and to assist them with any related concerns
- Keeping the Associate Director abreast of any issues with endowments, expendable awards or other institutional programs that could impact the timely processing of loan applications and or funds.
- Monitoring and auditing awards to ensure student compliance with endowed scholarship requirements
- Working closely with student scholarship recipients to ensure that they understand the process and assisting them with letters, questionnaires, and release form submissions.
- Acting as a University and department liaison with internal/ external entities responsible for making endowed/expendable recipient recommendations
- Assisting the Director in the awarding, renewing and monitoring of institutional grants and scholarships.
- Reviewing and completing federal verification cases, ensuring accuracy and maintain accountability by careful attention to detail in compliance with federal regulations.
- Counseling prospective and enrolled students and parents about financial aid programs, policies and procedures and directing students to other University contacts as needed. Assist with problem resolution when necessary.
- Delivering seamless, effective customer service with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, alumnae and outside agencies.
- And all other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
Competencies: - Strong customer service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate well, both verbally and in writing
- Must have good analytical skills
- Work well independently and with colleagues
- Must be organized and work well under pressure and deadlines
- Prior experience with Ellucian Banner system preferred
- Ability to conduct presentations and workshops on pertinent financial aid topics of interest, including financial aid procedures and financial literacy.
- Ability to navigate computer software and use common software applications, such as Microsoft Office is preferred.
Physical Demands: - This position requires heavy use of a desktop or laptop with extended periods sitting at a desk.
- While performing duties, employee may occasionally be required to stand for extended periods during University presentations or other functions.
Travel - Occasional local and distant overnight travel to meetings and/or training conferences
Required Education/Experience: - Bachelor Degree
- Two years prior related experience preferred
- Experience with Ellucian Banner is a plus
