Compensation: $50,000 yearly DOE

- This position is responsible for the instruction of course specific material within the School of Humanities.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Will provide 15 credit hours of instruction per semester with a primary teaching load in Navajo Language courses.
- Responsibilities include assessment, service on various college and department committees, maintenance of office hours, and other duties as assigned by the Dean.
- Development of program specific curriculum, course guide, syllabi, and other materials related to the program.
- Dual Credit instruction as part of possible teaching assignment.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of curriculum development principles.
- Knowledge of current trends in higher education.
- Knowledge and skill in scheduling, planning
- Knowledge and skill in staff management and staff supervision.
- Knowledge of computer programs and databases related to educational application.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Skill in classroom management.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in the preparation of a variety of reports.
- Skill in working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Qualifications: - Masters Degree In Navajo Language with 18 Graduate hours in Navajo Language or a Masters Degree in a related language or another field of study, with 18 Graduate hours in Navajo Language.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the objectives and functions of the “” Program in order to instruct students, usually interpreted to require two to three years of related experience.
- Dual Credit Instruction a plus.
