Job description

We are looking for a highly analytical and dynamic individual to join our Citi Retail Services (CRS) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team as part of the broader CRS Finance team. The well matched candidate will provide insightful financial and strategic support focused on guiding senior management within the business towards making key decisions on how to generate and drive revenues, return growth and expense opportunities over the short and long term. The role is a critical one on the team supporting forecasting processes, financial reviews and partnering with US Personal Banking FP&A to support stress testing (CCAR) and multi-year forecast cycles. The candidate will have responsibility for spearheading CCAR/quarterly multi-year projection process and is expected to help CRS with the model rationalization. The role provides strategic support to senior management including preparing business reviews and financial presentations for senior leadership and regulators. The candidate is also expected to engage and support critical re-engineering and redesign of existing processes and systems which will be part of the overall Transformation efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Analysis: Provides thought leadership around ad hoc analytics; using multiple sources of data to frame key trends for management and identify business opportunities and risks, including presentation of analysis to finance stakeholders and senior leadership team. Performs detailed causal variance analysis on financial results and metrics.
• Regulatory: Responsible for leading all CCAR related processes, including cross-functional portfolio modeling, documentation of results, presentation to senior leadership team, and coordination with GCB FP&A, Citi Branded Cards FP&A, Treasury, Model Risk Management, and Modeling teams. Ability to articulate the model output, quantify any potential overlays and present the findings to senior management. Responsible for CRS Finance activities supporting the business recovery and resolution planning.
• Leadership: Responsible for managing, directly and indirectly, team members to complete quarterly projection cycles in a controlled, accurate manner as well as to achieve re-engineering objectives. Ability to influence and engage in a consultative mode with various senior stakeholders across business, operations, technology and compliance to define the strategic scope, a problem solving approach and engage a team that effectively will lead the reengineering contributions from CRS Finance to contribute to the organizational objectives.
• Presentation and Communication: Prepares presentations encompassing various levels of business performance during CCAR, and quarterly forecasts. Presents financial projections and results broadly across various cross-functional teams.
• Internal Control/Process Management: Ensures accuracy and timeliness of internal reporting requirements. Drive process improvements and develop a streamlined plan on overall CRS Finance data strategy. Responsible for management of internal finance database, ensuring accurate data flow, data management, and optimization.
• Ad-hoc support of broader FP&A and/or business objectives and deliverables as required.

Qualifications:

• Credit Cards and/or Financial Services experience desired
• Prior forecasting/planning and financial analysis experience
• Extensive background in complex financial/profitability analysis, strategic planning/budgeting and relationship management.
• Desired experience with process re-engineering and system redesign
• Previous consulting, technology and/or management desired
• Ability to drive process improvements across the organization and lead efforts to institutionalize best-in-class programs
• Data, analytic and strategic orientation to execute and support qualitative and quantitative decisions
• Systematically uses and interprets financial analyses to evaluate potential costs, benefits, risks, and returns associated with business opportunities and strategic choices.
• Written and verbal communication skills: Role is required to be able to present key themes in a concise manner to business senior management
• Able to multi-task conflicting time pressures during CCAR, month end close, and quarterly flash periods require prioritization skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Demonstrated experience in ad hoc analytics

Education:

• Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Masters degree preferred

Citi Retail Services (CRS), with Assets of nearly $50B, is a leading provider of consumer and commercial credit card products, both private label and co-branded, to national and regional retailers and their customers across the U.S. It also provides retail industry expertise, including transaction data analytics, fully integrated marketing and loyalty programs and advanced digital capabilities. The business services over 70 million accounts for a number of national brands, including The Home Depot, Best Buy, Sears, Macys, Tractor Supply and Wayfair. This new role as CRS Lead Analyst role is expected to plan and execute Capital Planning / CCAR / FP&A activities to produce financial projections for CRS credit card business within USPB and work closely with CRS product teams and Corporate FP&A. The role reports to the CRS FP&A Manager and is part of USPB Finance organization.
