As a member of the logistics organization, the Logistics Planner-Warehousing will support the Regional Warehouse Manager. They will assist warehouse managers in assigned region including with inventory capacity reviews, establishing best practices, provide on-site training, and project management. This role will be located in Evansville, IN.
- Manage operational improvement along with warehousing/distribution inventory optimization.
- Analyze inventory levels and supports the development of a replenishment strategy with Supply Chain
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reductions leading action to realize improvements
- Analyze inventory levels in assigned locations and drive reduction of aged inventory.
- Assist in analyzing current network and advise on current capacity/utilization of all warehouses.
- Implement best in class warehousing processes and practices that drive operational efficiencies.
- Lead racking optimization projects on site with assigned teams.
- Implement best practice logistics principles, policies and, processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
- Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics processes
- Lead a safety culture throughout department. Support all safety initiatives.
- Undertakes other special projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or closely related equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics preferred.
- Experience in planning software, logistics scheduling, BI tools, and WMS/TMS systems.
- Ability to lead in a team setting, solid written, verbal communication & interpersonal skills.
- Above average knowledge of North American Geography related to freight lanes and back haul opportunities.
- Ability to present and work at all organizational levels, internally & externally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications.
- Experience with data analytics and analytic software.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, process, and execute value added project work that results in bottom line savings for the company.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, participate in, and lead teams.
- Six Sigma, White Belt, Black Belt training preferred.
- Willingness to travel when required-Up to 40%
