The Marquand Library of Art and Archaeology , is one of the oldest and most extensive art libraries in America.

The collection of over 500,000 volumes covers world art and architecture from antiquity to the present and includes distinguished rare book holdings.

Marquand serves the Princeton University community and scholars from around the world, attracting over 150,000 visitors a year. Marquand Library seeks to hire a Library Collections Specialist, Level V (LCS V).





Responsibilities



The LCS V position requires an energetic, production, and service-oriented person to manage two essential functions at Marquandâ”Marquandâ™s serial collection and the fulfillment of Marquand-based interlibrary loan (ILL) and document delivery (DD) requests. The LCS V is also one of a five-member team that assists patrons in the rare book reading room, facilitates circa fifty rare book class consultations per semester, and provides routine reference desk coverage eight to thirty hours per week.

Additionally, the LCS V ensures consistent staff presence by opening the library Monday-Friday.

This position oversees the inbound and outbound mail needs of Marquand Library. The LCS V also manages the work of three students assisting with the essential processing of serials and scanning for document delivery and collection development support.

Beginning in Spring 2021 all Marquand public and back-end services moved into two temporary Public Service Points in Firestone Library, and one Staff Processing Area at 693 Alexander Road.

This staff member will be instrumental in providing evening public services in our temporary spaces and will assist in the move of collections and services back to a newly renovated Marquand Library.
