Job description
The Warehouse Superintendent will supervise and manage daily activities related to shipping and receiving in multiple locations near Marietta, OH.

The employee in this position will provide general warehouse utilization and support for the warehouse staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Ensure the entire site operates in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations by always maintaining a culture of safety.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations.
- Perform routine safety checks, participate in safety training, and attend weekly safety meetings.
Personnel Management
- Revise and update standard operating procedures as necessary.
- Responsible for personnel related functions for employees on team including:
- work assignments.
- performance management
- timesheet approval
Quality
- Ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to meet or exceed all quality specifications.
- Research any quality issues to identify cause and implement corrective actions timely.
- Identify quality issues and collaboratively work with Director of Quality to determine and drive corrective actions.
Warehousing Responsibilities
- Manage flex space between raw materials and finished goods shipping to determine appropriate use.
- Good communication with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing and Operations to help ensure efficient receipt and shipments of goods.
- Ensure necessary supplies, labels, stickers, and related items are inventoried.
- Oversee the Inventory Specialists to ensure raw material and finished goods cycle counts are taking place and inventories are accurate.
- Evaluate efficiency opportunities and make recommendations for improvement between the various work activities at the site including resource sharing and use of site space.
- Oversee forklift maintenance.
- Determine building and grounds needs and maintenance plan.
- Report any rack or property damage and investigate cause as appropriate to situation.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent. A college degree is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 2-3 of those years managing others.
- Comfortable with ERP computer systems and ability to learn new computer responsibilities. JD Edwards experience is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs especially Word and Excel.
- Clearly convey and receive information with all levels of employees in both verbal and written format.
- Leadership skills necessary to properly motivate employees to perform at highest levels possible while maintaining the company’s philosophy of safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Keep pulse on morale of the employees, communicate concerns to appropriate management and follow up with issues as appropriate to create open and collaborative environment with all team members.
- Aptitude to provide coaching in a timely manner to help team members strengthen knowledge and skills.
- Use interpersonal communication skills to reduce tension/conflict between two or more people; identify issues and facilitate resolution.
- Ability to delve into problems, analyze available information and make decisions consistent with company goals and objectives.
- Proactive; ability to take prompt action without being prompted to accomplish objectives.
- Capable of understanding company initiatives and assist with planning and implementing on site in terms of work processes.
- Mechanically inclined, ability to understand how the equipment operates and to foresee maintenance needs.
- Must be able to plan, schedule and direct the work of self and others.
- Supervisory Responsibility-This position directly oversees the employees in the warehouse operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk on concrete floors for long periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must tolerate a noisy environment and use hearing and eye protection as well as other PPE as required. May experience hot or cold temperatures in correlation to the outside temperatures. This job operates in a non-climate-controlled warehouse production environment.
