Are you ready to take on a pivotal role as the Director of Private Brand Packaging ? In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of senior managers in the development and implementation of structural packaging and packaging standards for Member's Mark. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the protection of products throughout the supply chain, while also meeting all product and food safety requirements.

As the Director , you will also be at the forefront of driving innovative strategies to enhance the team's effectiveness and accomplish their work in new and exciting ways. Your influence will extend beyond Private Brand Packaging, as you and your team will have a significant impact on packaging across Sam's Club and all Brands through our Packaging Standards and special projects. To excel in this role, you must possess a tenacious mindset, a deep understanding of supplier and customer needs, and the ability to anticipate future business requirements. Your forward-thinking approach will be instrumental in shaping the future of packaging within our organization.

This role will be based out of our home office location in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on the utilization of new methodologies and technologies in designing and implementing structural packaging.

• Monitor the implementation of activities related to structural packaging development and develop the organization's structural packaging strategy.

• Solve problems that arise during the design and implementation of structural packaging, while maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders and the supply base.

• Develop and maintain packaging and sustainability standards to fulfill our commitment to community engagement.

• Coordinate complex tasks involving different types of packaging, including nontraditional hybrid systems, and provide guidance on packaging quality control and packaging/product interactions.

• Research, pilot, and implement intelligent packaging technologies, evaluating different package materials and technologies while analyzing costs and benefits.

• Build, maintain, and enhance effective internal and external partnerships through demonstrated integrity.

• Influence outcomes and effectively communicate shared goals with diverse groups and parties.

• Identify and address additional partner needs, educating them on value creation.

Qualifications :

• Extensive expertise in packaging, with a focus on the Private Label sector and a deep understanding of various packaging materials.

• A customer-centric mindset, always striving to anticipate and exceed customer expectations, while staying at the forefront of industry trends and innovation.

• Strong analytical skills, capable of delving into data and performing thorough analysis to drive informed decision-making in packaging strategies.

• A passion for tackling complex challenges head-on, coupled with a knack for finding creative and effective solutions that push the boundaries of packaging excellence.

• Exceptional skills in influencing others, adept at leading teams, managing stakeholders, gaining buy-in from leadership, and communicating ideas and strategies clearly and persuasively.

•A test and learn mentality, embracing an agile approach to continuously improve team products and processes, while remaining adaptable and open to new ideas and methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, design, engineering or related area and 5 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, packaging, or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, packaging, product development, or related area.
