We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team!

The primary responsibility of the Lab Technician is to promote a prompt turnaround time on all sample submissions while producing quality results.
Essential Functions:
- Calibrate and run controls on CBC and chemistry analyzers, preparing analyzers for the shift and technical troubleshooting.
- Data entry into LIS and process all samples submitted for in-house testing and send-outs, ie: cbc’s, chemistries, coag panels, immunochemistry, urine analysis, cultures, crossmatching, coombs, blood typing, various serology testing, cytology/fluid analysis with slide preparation as requested and multiple fecal tests.
- Prepare specimens for shipping.
- Enter, report and release test results.
- Answer the phones as needed and process all add-on tests.
- Prepare cultures for plating or shipping.
- Maintain water baths and stock supplies throughout lab as needed.
- Replace biohazard containers when full.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate time management skills, excellent follow through and attention to detail.
- Have the ability to work independently with little supervision, 8-10 hours.
- Have a working knowledge and be efficient with computers.
- Must be available to work different and extra shifts as needed, this includes weekend, day, night and holiday shifts. Holidays paid at time and a half!
- Must have Veterinary Medicine experience
Physical Requirements: Being able to stand and move around continuously for up to 10 hours a day. The ability to do several hours of computer work a day. The ability to work around and handle hazardous materials and also be able to lift to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Laboratory experience preferred.

- Proven experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing with attention to detail.
- Experience in lab work with excellent working knowledge of laboratory tests.
- Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing environment.
- Ability to interact with a diverse staff.
