Required QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education:
Two (2) years of post-secondary education with course work in biology, microbiology, and chemistry, including a 200-level series in biology and chemistry, and a majors course in microbiology
Required Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in an academic or industry laboratory setting as a lab technician or assistant.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science from a regionally accredited institution, with additional studies in microbiology and chemistry (including organic chemistry) is desirable.

Position Purpose:
This position fills the need for a part-time Life Science Instructional Specialist, who is responsible for providing specialized instructional support to Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Environmental Science curriculum. The Life Science Instructional Specialist also provides training and coordination with student assistants and supports the Life Science stockroom/lab, greenhouse, and aquarium lab.

Reports to and works under the general supervision of the Life Science Laboratory Coordinator, and is evaluated by the Division Dean. Work is performed independently using specialized experience and training. Work is reviewed for the quality and efficiency of tasks.
This position may have responsibility to assign tasks, provide priorities and train student assistants and volunteers.
