Position Summary:
The Educational Opportunity Fund ( EOF ) Program is a state-supported student success program that provides New Jersey residents holistic support and student success including comprehensive academic, personal, and financial support services and financial assistance. Under the supervision of the Manager, the Senior Counselor provides direct academic and holistic student support services to a caseload of undergraduates in the Rutgers-Camden EOF Program. The Senior Counselor monitors the success of EOF students and tracks their progress toward degree completion. S/he develops, implements, and participates in programs and initiatives designed to support the success of EOF students. The Senior Counselor plays a critical role in New Student Orientation and in the EOF Summer Institute. Collaboration with faculty and staff campus partners on behalf of EOF students and in support of student success programming is an integral part of the EOF Senior Counselor responsibilities.
This is a grant funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's degree (higher education, college student personnel, counseling, psychology, social work or related area strongly preferred). The EOF Senior Counselor is required to have significant (at least five years) experience advising, counseling, teaching, or otherwise providing holistic student development support in a collegiate environment to students of diverse racial, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, including low-socio economic, first-generation, and academically disadvantaged students, as well as coordinating and implementing structured programming for college students.

Equipment Utilized:
MS Office, internet, computer competency in reading and evaluating spreadsheets, databases, student information systems, and other computer-based platforms including EAB and Qualtrics. Incumbent may use social media tools to communicate with students and other constituents.

Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.
