Bangor School Department invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Superintendent of Schools . We are seeking an equity-minded leader with a proven track record of promoting student success and a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for all students, staff and community.
Approximately 3,700 students are enrolled in the Bangor School Department, which consists of: five PreK-3 elementary schools, two 4-5 elementary schools, two 6-8 middle schools, a 9-12 high school, Bangor Regional Program (Special Education services for students enrolled in grades K-12), and Adult Education.
Bangor High School offers 22 Advanced Placement classes (which consistently outperform state and national scores) and has four Academies for students who wish to pursue a deeper concentration in STEM , Visual and Performing Arts , Business , or Humanities . Bangor School Department has an 89.9% graduation rate and is proud to have five National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. Read more here .
