Description:
Magnolia Marine Transport has an opening at our Vicksburg office for a full-time Financial Analyst. A Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's financial planning and decision-making processes. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing strategic insights to help drive business growth and profitability. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial principles.

Financial Analyst Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (accounting, finance, economics or similar) or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years proven experience as a Financial Analyst, or similar, with marine exposure a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/ analytics software
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
A strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Proactive and adaptable to a dynamic business environment.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must hold a valid TWIC card.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities include the following:
Participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for efficient and cost-effective operations, aligning with overall company objectives.
Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Prepare comprehensive reports on financial performance, highlighting key metrics and insights.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support management in decision-making processes.
Monitor market trends and economic indicators that may impact the organization's financial performance.
Participate in the development of budgets, ensuring that financial goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.
Track and report on budget variances, investigating and explaining discrepancies.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project expenses.
Support solicitation, evaluation, and tracking of asset repair and construction activities.
Support and facilitate processes related to capital expenditure vetting and approval.
Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings, trends, and recommendations.
Collaborate with accounting, IT, and finance in the development and implementation of efficient data management systems.
