We are seeking a Director of Treasury & Accounting who excels in detailed financial management while grasping the broader organizational objectives. The role demands a dynamic individual adept at multitasking, prioritizing effectively, and providing strong leadership. A deep understanding of US GAAP and a track record of maintaining financial integrity are essential. This position plays a pivotal role in driving standardization and efficiency across the company and requires close collaboration with key finance and operational leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports treasury and cash management operations and helps develop strategies to maximize efficiencies, safeguard assets and minimize costs.
- Conducts borrowing and investing activities.
- Ensures compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures in day-to-day conduct and supervision of cash management activities.
- Manages credit agreement and any compliance related needs (e.g., reporting, compliance certificate).
- Ownership of company cash flow and any related variance analysis, forecasting and analytics.
- Recommends and implements improvements to current cash management processes.
- Assists in managing and maintaining company’s banking infrastructure, including bank and brokerage relationships.
- Manages capital market risks and interest exposures.
- Identifies cost-saving and profit maximizing opportunities related to treasury.
- Oversees cash and cash related functions (A/P, A/R, debt, banking, etc.), including cash positioning, cash reporting and forecasting, short-term investing and borrowing, wire payments, fraud prevention, bank account setup and maintenance, and bank relationship management.
- Supports financing negotiations and capital strategy formulation.
- Understands and manages appropriate procedures and processes around month-end and quarter-close activity, including coordination between treasury and general accounting as necessary.
- Ensures adherence to appropriate treasury controls, including record keeping and data testing.
- Provides financial analysis to executive management.
- Creates models involving cash flow, balance sheet, and income statement projections.
- Assists with M&A activity as necessary.
- Assists with accounting questions and valuation matters as necessary.
- Trains treasury staff on developmental goals in support of the organization.
- Partner, assist and collaborate with FP&A for annual, quarterly, and monthly financial review, forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Assist with interim and year-end audit preparation and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors as necessary.
- Perform other financial analysis as needed and provides recommendations as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Must be highly analytical and able to clearly convey those analytics to others.
- Extensive experience with multi-location organizations, ability to work effectively with remote locations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and other applicable treasury related statutory requirements.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
- Possess strong working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills with timeliness/commitment to deadlines and accuracy.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at and across all levels within the organization and external service providers.
- Must have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment which demands flexibility, balancing priorities and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in business requirements.
EDUCATION AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- CPA and/or CFA certification strongly preferred
- 3-4 years of supervisory experience; 3-5 years of relevant treasury or corporate finance experience with emphasis in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, M&A activity, and debt management
- 10 years or more of total professional experience
