Job description
The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will identify and implement measures for cost savings and manufacturing process improvements with automation as well as support aspects of production. A successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as part of a team, be able to multi-task, be a self-starter, and be hands-on with projects. This is a full-time position, and not eligible for remote working.
Responsibilities include: - Drawing, reviewing, and updating 3D models and prints.
- Designing and aiding in the development of work holdings, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and machines.
- Design, assemble, and install new applications of robotics and other automation devices including electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to support existing automation and make improvements.
- Perform project management responsibilities for assigned manufacturing changes and project startups.
- Design, develop, and integrate equipment improvement/automation ideas.
- Utilize Lean manufacturing tools to identify opportunities for cost reduction and manufacturing process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a production manufacturing setting.
- Experience using PLCs or digital logic.
- Knowledge of key engineering systems (Lean, VSM, ECN, Kaizen, PFMEA, APQP).
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills to document improvement efforts.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and drawing (SolidWorks preferred).
