Job description

CVP is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing team. The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, management, and ongoing support of end user desktop systems. This role will additionally define and implement standardized processes for desktop systems support across the client environment and serve as a source of thought leadership regarding desktop systems and technology across the environment.

• Respond to escalations from L2 and L3 support
• Ability to architect software and configuration workflows ensuring the best user experience
• Mentor desktop support technicians
• Respond to system alerts, outages, and service requests
• Software update and patching
• Removal of unsupported software
• Software compatibility and hardware analysis
• Computer image configuration management
• Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
• Work with physical and virtual servers for caching, patch management, and Active Directory
• Create and maintain documentation

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a senior admin role
• Windows certifications in one or more of the following: MCSE, MCP, VMWare
• 7+ years in a Windows-heavy technical role
• 5+ years of shell scripting experience
• Experience and proficiency in using, but not limited to, the following tools and software - Applications that require package building experience: Windows GPO, Windows WSUS, Microsoft Deployment Tool (MDT), LANRev, BigFix; PowerBroker, JAMF (for Mac); and Spacewalk (for Linux).
• Understanding of networking concepts such as IPv4, IPv6, and TCP/UDP.
• Understanding of information security concepts, such as Role Based Access Control, SSO, MFA, etc.
• Knowledge of network services such as NTP, SNMP, RADIUS, Syslog, etc.
• Knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP users and groups
• ITIL foundation certification preferred
