Job description
Brandeis University is delighted to announce a career opportunity as a Research Technician. This position is responsible for conducting research full-time under the supervision of Prof. Bruce Goode. Perform live imaging on yeast cells, DNA plasmid construction, yeast genome editing, and quantitative image analysis. Help mentor undergraduates in the lab. Oversee lab budget, purchasing, and reimbursements. Participate in weekly group meetings. Read primary literature, and gain an intellectual understanding of the project.
Job Description:
Perform experiments, analyze data, and make publishable figures, all under the direct supervision of Prof. Bruce Goode. Estimated time: 75%.
Lab management tasks (purchasing/ordering, lab organization, supervision of undergrads). Estimated time: 25%
Job Requirements:
Bachelorâ™s degree in Biological Sciences required
1-3 years of work experience preferred
Requires good vision (or corrected vision), as well as reasonable hand to eye coordination for pipetting and handling biological apparati.
Requires good computer skills and familiarity with programs used in research (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Adobe Ilustrator, Photoshop, ImageJ, etc)
